★ This lecture is for people to collectively contemplate hiking trail conservation as they listen to reflections on the Hiking Trail Maintenance Workshop from actual participants.

To ensure that nature on the Oki Islands has a future, the Geopark Management Bureau is holding a workshop for people to learn and think about hiking trail conservation and the use of local areas.

At this lecture, participants will hear examples of what is being done in other areas from lecturer Okazaki of Daisetsuzan Yamamoritai, an organization that has worked over many years on hiking trail maintenance that balances nature on Mt. Daisetsu, and which has built up a framework of conservation activities.

Both those who participated in the actual hiking trail maintenance and those who wish to protect the future of nature on the Oki Islands are more than welcome to join.
