“Geo Reading Club” Held!
On October 12, the collaborative event “Geo Reading Club” was held with Ama Town Central Library at Entô, a geopark base facility in Ama Town.
Within the worldview of Entô concept of “Nature and You,” this event aimed to foster a dialogue between participants and their books through reading books or the social exchange among participants.
To begin the event, geopark guide staff introduced Entô and the geopark. Participants gazed at the sky as clouds passed by and tried casting their imagination back several millions of years ago as they touched fossils, allowing them to feel how they are currently a part of nature. Additionally, the reading corner prepared for this event with books that had geopark or geology themes was introduced to participants.
Following that, participants chose a book they wanted to read and settled into their preferred space inside Entô. Finally, participants gathered together one last time to share amongst themselves about what they read, felt, and realized as they were reading.
Besides feedback from people who were pleased to have this chance to read comfortably, participants reported positive feedback such as about how reading opened a dialogue between what they were reading and themselves, and how they had successfully taken a moment to be still in this atmosphere, making this reading event truly only possible at Entô.
